Consumer Rights

ECOTRADEX LIMITED fully acknowledges and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), ensuring all consumer rights are upheld. For products purchased for business purposes, the CGA does not apply, and warranties are limited as specified in this policy. This warranty operates in addition to your rights under the CGA and other applicable laws.

Warranty Coverage

Residential Use:

• SPC flooring is warranted against manufacturing defects and wear-through to the decorative layer under normal residential use for 10 years.

Commercial Use:

• For approved commercial applications, SPC flooring is warranted against manufacturing defects for 1 year.

 General Conditions for Warranty Validity:
                This warranty applies only if:

• The product is installed indoors in an environment suitable for its design and intended use (e.g., not for garages, outdoor areas, or high-moisture environments).
• Installation and maintenance are conducted in accordance with ECOTRADEX LIMITED’s official guidelines and industry standards.
• The site is properly prepared before installation, following our recommendations.

Warranty Limitations

This warranty does not cover:

Normal Wear and Tear:

• Fading, discoloration, gloss reduction, scratches, scuffs, stains, or minor surface imperfections resulting from regular use.

Improper Installation or Maintenance:

• Issues caused by failure to follow ECOTRADEX LIMITED’s installation and care instructions, including incorrect adhesive or substrate preparation.

Environmental Damage:

• Damage caused by flooding, extreme temperature changes, humidity, or exposure to direct sunlight.
• Mold or mildew growth due to excessive moisture in the environment.

Accidents or External Forces:

• Damage from stiletto heels, dragged objects, dropped items, heavy furniture, or improper use of rolling furniture.
• Damage from pets, misuse by children, or deliberate actions.

Acts of God or Force Majeure

• Events such as fire, earthquakes, floods, or other natural disasters.

Variations and Visual Characteristics:

• Color or texture variations between batches or minor deviations from samples. These are natural characteristics of the product and not considered defects.

Commercial Exclusions:

• Wear or damage in high-traffic commercial settings resulting from heavy use, rolling equipment, or chemical spills.

Indirect Costs:

• Costs associated with removal, reinstallation, or other incidental expenses.

Claims and Warranty Service

Filing a Claim:

• To file a claim, the original purchaser must provide proof of purchase and details of the issue. Claims must be made within the applicable warranty period.

Inspection and Resolution:

• ECOTRADEX LIMITED reserves the right to inspect the product before processing any warranty claim. Failure to allow inspection may invalidate the warranty.
• If a defect is confirmed, we will, at our discretion:
  • Repair the defective product, or
  • Replace the defective product (or part) with a similar product.

Non-Transferability:

• This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

Limitation of Liability:

• ECOTRADEX LIMITED’s liability is limited to the replacement of the defective product, and does not cover the installation or any other charges. We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

• Proper care and maintenance are essential to uphold the warranty. Please refer to our Care and Maintenance Guidelines for detailed instructions.
• Warranty claims are governed by New Zealand law and subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
